The past week has been a pretty hectic one swamped in a lot of last-minute wedding planning for my friend who ties the knot on Saturday. However, there has still been plenty bringing smiles to my face including this good ol' Yorkshire mug that the SO bought me as a little something. He's a charmer.
Daniel Agger forks out to send Denmark's homeless side to World Cup
I'm a massive football fan, in particular Liverpool FC, but I get constantly annoyed with how self-centred the vast majority of them are. This makes me smile endlessly and just shows that some people do make good use of their small fortune. In the same vein, this piece about Simon Cowell also made me smile. I actually think he's a nice guy and that people shouldn't be so jealous. It's such a shame that people are always so much more willing to share stories that are negative rather than the nice ones.
Stephen Hawking shows off Intel's connected wheelchair
I love science and I've previously mentioned just how much I admire Stephen Hawking so this piece was always going to make me smile. I just think people are brilliant and can do amazing things with the right help and support.
Patrick Stewart: There’s no such thing as “just a domestic”
Another one of those people that I simply can't imagine dying because he's such an important figure to me is Patrick Stewart . I absolutely love him. He's spoken out a lot about domestic violence in the past and is a patron of a leading charity but this piece from him for the New Statesman is absolutely spot on.
Being a transvestite has toughened me up for politics, says Izzard
This blog post is turning into a proper fangirl post but Eddie Izzard is another one of my favourite humans. I'd heard a while back that he was thinking about going into politics and I think he would be brilliant. I'm drawn to people who are just a little bit freaky and he is definitely that. I think a lot of people don't give him the credit for how intelligent he actually is, the trouble with being a comedian I suppose.
