It's Monday again and it feels like this year is racing towards the finish, they've already started discussing the Christmas party at work. I shouldn't complain really because the nearer we are to Christmas, the nearer I am to having the SO back for longer than a weekend, and then that's halfway to him coming home for summer.
Anyway, here are what has been cheering me up over the past week while I pretend I'm not that girl that pines at home.

Steve Backshall's passionate hymn
I'm a big animal lover. I love them a lot more than most people and I think some of the most endangered species are so beautiful but my children could quite possibly be born into a world where most of them are gone. It makes me so sad, and to know that we are responsible just makes it even worse. I don't often recommend the Daily Mail but this piece from Steve Backshall's perspective is a brilliant read.
20 Things You Should Know About Dating An Independent Girl
I'm not usually one to post a '20 things about dating ...' piece but this one has me down to a tee. I'm fiercely independent and it has been the source of horrible arguments with past partners, and just makes me realise how lucky I am to have the SO who completely respects and loves me for who I am.
What It Really Means When You Like or Share Content from Britain First
I don't want to get political or all preachy or anything, but I'll just say this is a very thought-provoking piece about the impact that social media can have.

Blogs I have loved this week:
A new sofa {PART TWO} - ghost parties. I am in love with the whole decor of this room. It's exactly how I'd want my living room to be. It's the perfect combination of colour, clean lines and light, as well as having a subtle injection of personality. I LOVE IT.
Breakfast at Dawn - The Londoner. I like to think I'm the kind of person that would get out of bed to have breakfast as the sun comes up. Sadly, nothing gets me out of my bed but this post is a brilliant spark of spontaneity, and may even encourage something similar from me in the future (don't hold you breath).
We Thought: Dear my younger self - Little Winter. Little Winter is one of my absolute favourite blogs, y'know the ones you head straight for when you see an update on bloglovin' and this post is just lovely. I also like that we share the same name and spelling.
