This weekend was the SO's birthday so we had a barbecue with his family. Having barbecues is one of my favourite things to do when the weather is decent and brings back happy memories of being a kid. One of the first things my dad ever taught me to do (after riding a bike and swimming) was how to build and cook on a proper barbecue, so it always makes me smile.
I've had some more time off work so that the SO can spend some time with his family around his birthday, which has meant a lot of time to reading and I've been getting stuck into Oh Comely magazine and Slaughterhouse Five. I'll write a post on what I think of both when I'm finished.
I may be AWOL over the next couple of days as we're travelling to Somerset to see my parents, and broadband seems to be unheard of where they are. I may have withdrawals in the first couple of hours but I'm looking forward to disconnecting with technology for a bit.
