At the fairly young age of 23, I've been lucky enough to see some truly beautiful places, both in the UK and further afield. I love travel and in another life maybe I would have packed up all my things into a suitcase and hopped from country to country, but I'm way too much of a control freak to do that. I want to know that I have stability for the future and that I will have somewhere that I can call home. See I love travel, I love new places and new food, I even love the flying and waiting in the airport. I love it all. But I also love the smaller adventures like weekend trips to the seaside just to eat fish 'n' chips and having afternoon tea with my mum. I feel that these smaller, less instagram-able things will be the times I miss the most when my loved ones aren't around anymore.
As with most things, balance is key and I'm careful with my money so that I can hold down a full-time job, which pays for my travel and for securing a future. Saying that, travelling has also brought me some of the happiest memories I have and here are my top five places to visit.

Burano, Italy
Burano is somewhere that I had never heard of until I started on my Italy trip but is one of the most incredible places I have ever seen. It is a short boat ride from Venice but is completely worth the trip. There isn't much to do there, but who needs anything to do when you can take photos like this? They also have some of the best gelato I tasted while I was there.
Berlin, Germany
Berlin is probably my favourite place, or at the least the place I would be most likely to live if I ever decided to leave the UK. For someone like me, who loves history, Germany's capital was always somewhere that I would go. The SO and I take turns picking destinations and this year was my choice so Berlin it was. The people are lovely, there is so much to see and do, and it is one of the most diverse places in Europe.
Paris, France
Paris is always the place that surprised me the most. As a cynic, I wasn't looking forward to the overpriced, well everything, the crowds, the rude people and the forced romance but I fell in love with Paris pretty hard and pretty quickly. I am a food lover and they have nicest food in world, as well as delicious coffee. The city has the most welcoming vibe and is full of things to do whether you want to check off the tourist hot spots or simply want to eat dinner late and drink wine.
Boston, USA
As I love anything to do with boats, water etc, I should have known that I would always love Boston. It is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen, especially around the harbour. It also serves up the most delicious seafood I have ever tasted, unsurprising I know but still a fact. Half my family live in Boston so I'm lucky enough to have been a number of times and each trip I fall a little more in love with the place.
Venice, Italy
Venice is simply breathtaking and somewhere any person should see at least once. There are the most beautiful cafes right next to the water, and taking a ride on a gondola isn't half as cheesy as you think it will be. The food, like most of Italy, is delicious and photos fail to do it justice.
Where have you loved visiting? Do you agree with my top five?
