I'm sad to say that I think summer may be over. The weather forecast is saying that, thanks to hurricane Bertha, that colder winds will be gracing us this weekend, meaning it's firmly back to leggings and jumpers for me.
I'm a big lover of the explorer holiday, and by that I mean landing in a new city and exploring not doing crazy things like being cold or tired for extended periods of time. As this often means a lot of walking, it can be difficult to know what to wear that will make me look decent but also be practical for me marching around and getting lost. I've recently got back from Berlin (picture-heavy post to follow) and there was SO much walking and exploring to do. I loved it. These are similar outfits to what I wore during my time in Germany and it worked really well. Navy Elasticated Shorts - I have fairly voluptuous love handles, which are awesome, but mean that finding jeans/shorts to fit can be a bit of a nightmare. High-waisted stuff is perfect and these shorts have a sailory feel to them (which I love)
White Aztec Print Crop Top - I'm slowly coming around to the idea of a crop top, as long as it exposes no more than one inch of skin! This top is perfect with high-waisted shorts and just allows a glimmer of skin, while leaving you cool as it wasn't too tight. Black Metal Trim Sandals - You will find it pretty hard to get me out of converse-type shoes, and I used to hate sandals as they hurt my toes, but these are perfect. I love the black and the extra support means that I don't hurt my toe trying to clench it to my foot. Cream Messenger Bag - I'm extra cautious with security when travelling and love a bag that has about 23712837 locks and things keeping it safe from prying hands. This messenger bag is perfect, with enough room for everything you need and fits in with my sailor style. Mint Green Kamino - Light and airy kimonos have become a bit of a summer staple with the lovely weather we've been having in the UK lately. They add just enough to keep the chill off in the evenings but don't make you clammy. Gold Stud Earrings - I'm a no-fuss kind of girl, which means that jewellery usually annoys me, but on holiday I try and make a bit more of an effort (hoping I'll manage to take the perfect, frameable photo). With my long hair and careless/clumsy attitude, dangly earrings are a no-go area but these stud earrings are just enough to add a little bit of detail without ragging my hair out. |
